Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate Galleried Inkstand, circa 1780 - 1800. Birds Issued 1972-1988Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate Inkstand, circa 1780 1800. Features two inkwells, a sealing wax holder and taperstick holder. The galleried inkstand is pierced with a beaded top rim and reeded base, as are the bottle holders. The taperstick holder can be removed to reveal a compartment for storing sealing wax. Raised on four claw and ball feet. In excellent order with light surface wear, commensurate with age.
